Welcome to Taylors Children Center (TCC)
At TCC we believe that high-quality childcare is much more than babysitting. It is about calmly guiding children as they learn about themselves and the world around them through various play experiences in a consistent caregiving home-like environment.
Children grow and learn best in a safe and secure environment that is challenging, provides opportunities to explore, create and communicate with other children and adults. The program is designed to be inclusive of all children, including those with identified developmental needs. The Center’s programme is intended to include both planned and spontaneous activities in response to children’s individual interests and needs.
Emotionally, we will support children to develop a positive self-image, build relationships with peers and caregivers and be happy in their surroundings. There will also be clearly defined limits to help children recognize and accept their emotions and express their feelings as they grow and feel secure in the world around them.
History
The Director, Theresa Taylor returned from England to her home land Grenada in 2014. She worked at St. George’s University childcare facility (GAP) as the Assistant Director until 2017.
Since then Mrs Taylor focused her attention on quality and training of childcare workers to practice professionally when working with children and families in early year’s education and care. She founded Taylor’s Adult Learning Service (TALS) where some of the former SGU Grand Anse Play Group staff were primary beneficiaries of this service.
In 2018 under the vision of Theresa Taylor, Taylors Children Center (TCC) was opened. The Center houses a spacious open plan layout, with quiet area, open activity area and cubby storage for children to retrieve toys and resources as and when needed and a spacious playground that accommodates different age groups. TCC will offer a solid early childhood education and care based on the individual needs of the child. The significance of a Children Center is that there will be other educational and social activities offered to support parents, carers and visitors.
